How long to change a transmission in a 94 Civic?
I have a 94 Civic with a 5 speed manual that I am starting to hear what sounds like failing release bearing sounds. Being that you have to basically split the transmission in half to change that stupid bearing, I don’t know if it would be worth doing to my transmission that has 190000 miles on it. If I could find another good transmission, how long do you think it would take a good mechanic to change it?
Actually, you do not have to take the transmission apart to change the release bearing. Just simply remove the transmission and it’s there. I would also recommend changing the clutch, check the engine rear main seal, and front transmission seal while you’re there. You would need to do these if you change the transmission anyway.
Is there an online car repair course?
I’m interested in learning more about car repair. Is there an online course, or a specific website or book, that I could basically go from no knowledge to competency?
You would be better off to check your local Community College or Vo/Tech school. They often have evening classes cheap, plus you work on your, or another student’s, car w/an expert watching.
do manufacturers only make triptonic and not the original auto transmission?
i heard, that, if u wanted to buy a car with auto transmission, the car manufacturers, somehow, have stopped making cars with straight forward automatic transmission and now only make new cars with triptonis transmission

What is the best online source for Auto service manuals?
I’m willing to pay for a subscription. www.alldatadiy.com didn’t have much info for my 1986 car.
Autozone is a decent for free resource, but I can’t find alot of stuff I need there.
I like ChiltonDIY.com
http://www.chiltondiy.com/default.aspx
But you can also go the original source and get it straight from the OEM publications, the same OEM manuals dealer shops have. You can buy it and it is affordable. Go to this link and click on "CLICK HERE" under "VEHICLE OWNER, DO-IT-YOURSELF & PROFESSIONALS"

Online auto mechanics courses while in high school?
Okay, so I’m 16 in my junior year and home schooled. I want to take any auto mechanics courses online but i don’t know where to start. I do mechanic work on the side. But i want to get ahead of the game while I’m still in high school. What is a place that will take me? I don’t really care what courses I take I just want to learn more any have a document that says what I’ve done. Please help!
I don’t really know any online mechanic courses just masters degree programs in mechanical engineering. I do know that a school strictly for auto mechanics called Universal Technical Institute offers various programs on campus related to your field. You should try a local community college. Sometimes they offer certificate and even AS degrees in your field. I suggest you to talk to a counselor about the possibilities. Since you are 16, you can start taking college courses as an early enrollment admission student or a dual enrollment student. The dual enrollment means that while you are going to high school, you are also completing some college courses. Go speak with a counselor, there are so many juniors, seniors, and even sophomores who are getting a head start with their college courses. Hope this helps. Good luck sweetie!
In the auto industry can you make great money if you are a auto insurance agent?
thinking of making career move. I’ve worked in the mortgage industry, which is not doing so well. But alot of empolyers in the auto insurance world have been contacting me. Can you make great income.
If you make the move to insurance, you can make a great deal of money if you are willing to work hard. You will want to make sure that any producer agreement you enter into spells out exactly what your responsibilities are and what split of commission you will receive, both on new sales and renewals. I made exponentially more money on renewals than on new sales. That is because I treated my clients with respect and they stayed with me. When I retired, I had clients that I had had since the first year I was in the business. I can’t even imagine how much money I made from their loyalty to me.
Your income will start out low, but it will build if you are a good agent and will not give up. The most difficult years are the first five. After that, your renewals and referrals will keep you going.
Does anyone know of a good auto body parts website for a 2005 f-250 pickup?
www.LMPERFORMANCE.com
Is it possible to buy black automotive (auto body) paint for your vehicle?
It’s a black Chevy, and it needs auto body work, to cover chipping paint, that looks as though it burned off from the sun or something.
Is it possible to buy something being sold in the store?
And do it yourself?
you can buy any color you want. the only thing i know you can get in the parts store is spray paint in cans, and brush paint.
