Elusiveity – yes, you can either use a very thin scredriver or you could bend a piece of stiff coat-hanger as well. I ended up buying the tool (it’s been a while but I think it was less than $10.00) but before I bought the tool I just used one of my very small Sears Craftsman screwdrivers. The tool makes it easier but it’s not a necessity. Just remember that you’re trying to push the spring clamp that’s on there out of the grooves in the crank shaft. I hope this is helpful.
